We are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted as a finalist in the Midlands Business Awards as Midlands Service Provider of the Year, 2021.
The nomination, which comes almost a year after the Covid-19 crisis started, reflects our support for the incredible work by NHS England and General Practice throughout the country. Over the past year, our consultants have been working tirelessly with teams within the medical and care sectors behind the scenes, helping them adapt and manage their way through such tough and unprecedented times.
In 2019 Develop Consulting won a major contract with NHS England supporting them deliver their Productive General Practice Programme which implements efficiencies that benefit Practice operations and patient care. This programme was designed to provide rapid improvement for general practices and formed part of NHS England’s ‘Time For Care’ support offer. We worked hard to see it being implemented and have seen great change within the practices and regions we’ve worked with.
But, as the true magnitude of the pandemic became apparent in March 2020, our support was repositioned and we were able to work with NHS England to rapidly develop a response programme for practices that themselves were having to face changes that they had never foreseen or imagined before. While the world was coming to grips with a virus that shut down many services, the staff at GP practices and hospitals had to step up another gear, continuing to help patients with existing conditions alongside this new unknown, and therefore our consultants also had to learn new ways to guide them through this crisis.
Our support grew into assisting with patient triage, video consultations and Covid security, and demand for this escalated quickly, with up to 200 individual sessions being delivered weekly. Practices saw decades of changes take place within days and through our work with practice managers, doctors, nurses, reception teams, back-office staff, clinical commissioning groups, primary care networks, care homes and patient participation groups. Our teams were able to help them deliver the highest quality, easily accessed and safest patient experience possible and all while working remotely themselves to keep everyone safe. From the feedback we received, our work during this period, especially at its peak last Spring, has been considered vitally important to Practices – and we are of course grateful to have been able to help in our own specialised way, through this.
Within this current climate and being unable to be physically present at these events, we feel it is more important than ever that teams such as ours and those we have worked with, are recognised. To be shortlisted in these awards really is a great marker of this and has been a way for us to magnify the incredible work done behind the scenes over the past twelve months.
We are looking forward to the announcement of the winner in the summer by the MBA Awards Team and want to wish all the finalists the best of luck!
