A leading operational improvement consultancy has appointed an experienced transformation leader to strengthen its client relationships across manufacturing, construction and transportation.
Jack Emery joins Develop Consulting as Client Relationship Lead for Manufacturing, Construction and Transportation, bringing more than 15 years’ experience improving how complex organisations operate, perform and grow.
Jack will work alongside CEO Steve Boam, Airports Operations, Construction and Manufacturing Director Steve Clark and the wider consultancy team to grow client relationships across these sectors.
Throughout his career, Jack has helped organisations in manufacturing, healthcare, energy, water and rail make lasting improvements to the way they operate. In manufacturing, he has delivered operational improvement across production and logistics, including redesigning automotive production processes to cut excess inventory and improve process capability, and reconfiguring warehousing to introduce just-in-time supply.

His wider experience includes leading a UK-wide transformation programme that delivered multi-million-pound efficiencies across gas and electricity transmission, helping a water company get its capital schemes to site substantially faster and at lower development cost, designing the future operating model for a rail organisation to enable it to deliver a near three-fold growth in its capital investment programme, and reducing length of stay across elderly care wards.
Across a range of industries, Jack has built Lean capability within client teams, from a major UK utility to a construction materials producer, equipping frontline staff to solve problems for themselves and uncovering substantial cost and revenue opportunities in the process. His experience ranges from operational improvement to strategic change, and he is comfortable operating across the business, from the shop floor to senior leadership. He builds trust by listening first, taking the time to understand what each client is trying to achieve and what is getting in the way. From there he works collaboratively, with client teams and colleagues alike, keeping everyone focused on the outcome the client needs.
Steve Clark said: “I’m really pleased to welcome Jack to the Develop Consulting team. Jack’s appointment strengthens our ability to build lasting partnerships with clients across manufacturing, construction and transportation. He combines practical, hands-on Lean improvement with the experience to shape operating models at a senior level, and he has a real talent for building trust with both leadership and frontline teams. That combination is exactly what our clients value. His skills and experience complement those of our talented team of consultants, and I’m looking forward to us all working together as we continue to grow.”
Jack added: “I’m delighted to be joining Develop Consulting. Throughout my career, I’ve enjoyed working alongside leaders and frontline teams to understand what matters most to them and shape improvement work that makes a real difference. Develop Consulting’s practical approach to improvement is something I really value, and I’m looking forward to working with our consultants and clients across manufacturing, construction and transportation to deliver lasting results.”
